Several bands share the name Words: 1) WORDS is a crusty, sludgy punk power trio from Mexico City formed in 2010 by former members of Tokyo Eye, I/C/O/C, Monosodic and Go Go Frenezi (and, later, Nazareno el Violento and Apocalipsis). The band has played with several local cult bands like Antimäster, Los Monjo, Crimen and Inservibles, as well as with international acts like Dave Phillips (ex-Fear of God), Eskatologia (Sweden) and La URSS (Spain). 2) Words is a hardcore punk band from Quebec City, Quebec Canada. Formed at the end of summer 2006, Quebec City's Words was quickly up on its feet and ready to show their local scene what the band is about. Playing their first show only two weeks after their first practice as a complete band, Words still hasn't lost any momentum. It really is no surprise considering the people behind the instruments, though. Words has a very impressive pedigree of bands including Mi Amore, Commando, Nihyl & Monocycle, among others. This, however, does not mean anyone could expect what would hit them the first time they would witness the band's live show. Knowing each other from their implications in the local scene, these five friends got together with the clear intent of playing music that combines everything they've always loved about punk rock since they first got into it in the 90's: the music, the message, the values. Words packs a greatly needed socio-political punch to the face of their local hardcore / punk scene with their very own brand of heavy but still groovy metallic hardcore. "Words are loaded pistols." - Jean-Paul Sartre Words has a 7" called "As Law" and has a full length coming out called "Cult of Gold". 3) Words is also a post-hardcore band from Reno, NV. This band has four members named Justin, Morgan, Scott, and Jules. Justin played in bands like Disconnect and Bafabegiya. Jules played in bands like Elphaba and Greyskull. Morgan and Scott both played in War Tree. Three-fourths of this band are now in Over Vert. Words released one split 7" record with the band Think In French and one full-length CD in 2007 before disbanding. Both releases were by the Humaniterrorist collective label. 4) Words is an indie emo band from Moscow. Formed in the end of 2009 and had their first perfomance on the upcoming New Year party at friends country house. The Band is going to release a 7'' split with a band called Mothership and a long play in 2011. Read more on Last.fm.
