Nate Wollman, the son of a pianist and 80’s pop producer became a fan of electronic music production and began his journey into making tracks at just 15 years old. Nate found much of his inspiration from a local radio station program called the “Modern Mix” which used to air on the popular California radio station, Live 105 FM during the late weekend hours back in the early 1990’s. Without hesitation, Nate enthusiastically began purchasing equipment to make his own tracks, most notably on the cult classic, Atari 1040st Falcon and the Roland JS-30 sampling station. In those days his method of recording was often analog tape. During the 1990’s his first hand encounters with rave culture led him to local parties such as Pacific Sound’s legendary “Sunset” gatherings on Sunday afternoons as well as countless nights with friends at loft parties around California and across the nation. In 1999, after years of studio experience, Nate released his first pressing called “Hone In On The Hoon” in limited numbers to Bay Area vendors and performed live PA sets at massive parties and loft raves. Soon after he finally came to the conclusion that starting his very own digital label and production house, Post War Records, could give him the chance to promote and sell tracks to a wide international audience of DJ’s. Nate’s releases have been signed to such Labels as Tarantic Records S.F., Greenhouse Recordings U.K., and Allhousemusic Recordings S.F. Independent distribution of Nate Wollman’s tracks are also sold to download sites with continued success. He is currently working on film soundtrack projects and cell phone ring tones as well. From thought provoking and sometimes melancholic house music, to gritty dance tracks, this artist has found a style that melds many genres into an original sound, landing his tracks in the deep house category, often with a peak-hour attitude. Many of Nate’s tracks are perfect for playing at 3am when the main room is full and the sound system is turned all the way up, while others are made for listening in more intimate surroundings. Nate Wollman creates well thought out dance tracks for the international community with a touch of class and a pop sensibility that makes them interesting and addictive. Read more on Last.fm.
